What students at the Lititz Watch Technicum have been up to: I wish I had made one of these. I love this stuff.

Hi fellow watchmakers or lovers or Horology. Years ago(in the 80s) I went to Ohio Valley Watchmaking Institute. When I graduated I worked for a jeweler with another student at a jewlery shop; though he could not pay us much and do to expenses he had to let us go. After that I tried working for a trade shop, but everything was rush, rush and it took all the pleasure out of watchmaking. Then I heard Honeywell was looking for watchmkers to work on a missle project for the Navy. I didn’t get the job so I gave up watchmaking and entered flight school to achieve a commercial pilots license. Though after that, in order to get flight hours I trained to become a flight instructor, during that time Honeywell was still looking for watchmakers to work on the same program for the Navy. This time I got hired, but after three years I got laid off and had to look for other employment. I have been dreaming of getting into watchmaking again, but looking at the trade and the times where in, it seems a bit impractical economically.
