Even though it took three services in three weeks, I bet the customer got his/her watch back much faster than sending it back to the Piaget factory. I hope the customer appreciated this fact.

Hi Scott,
re:Manufacturers should make the tech docs available to everyone.
You will not believe what goes on in their heads mate. Obvioucly, they think that this is provileged information, and the name of the game is being as secretive as possible. No amount of arm twisting, or even filed lawsuits will prevent this. Whether they pay or they do not, documents just do not get released to anyone, or any watchmaker willy-nilly. I do not know detailed information on the AWCI- but surely someone from there can comment too? best

Doesn't the AWCI have the technical documents for this one. Manufacturers should make the tech docs available to everyone.

Hi Jp, This is indeed a tricky repair. I had a similar one some two weeks ago- very tricky if it has been played around with. Luckily for me, I had to service it just the once- and there was no glue under the dial.
Watchmaking of course, is the only career, where you get a steep learning curve everyday of your watchmaking life! Cheers!

Thanks for this, J.Peter. I am sure your post will be of good help to any watchmakers scouring the Internet for information on the 8P2 in the future.
